“Guardian Angels”
These guides came to me on two separate occasions and act as a metaphor for all our “guides”; I felt moved to paint them together. The top guide (originally the painting was called “The Guides”) was an ethereal being I saw in my mind’s eye hovering over my partner at a Gregg Braden Seminar only a few months after we had met. The other angel showed up as a guide to my friend, Joell, during a time she spent in the hospital. I find it interesting I chose to bring a masculine and feminine balance to this piece before actually realizing this was a piece in the “Goddess” series. What I saw was real. I offer you what my mind’s eye saw so that in hopes, you too, will see your own
guides or the guardian angels of others!

“Transition” It is appropriate that this piece be in my first show. It is what I feel I am going through currently, although there have been several major transitions in my life. Transition means change and it is a paradox that the constant cycle of life is assurance of
never ending change. My first paintings seem to have an ethereal look to them but even then I was exploring the concept of light vs dark, and the idea that we remember we are whole and balanced when we recognize and embrace both the light and dark aspects of life.

“Letting in the Light”
How much Light/Love can we stand? That question arose after I moved from my tiny, dark apartment to the home/studio on the water I now occupy. My current home is located on the south end of Bainbridge Island where we receive intense sunlight from morning to dusk. We are energy beings. We vibrate like all of life, each having a different level of vibration. Light itself is a vibration as well as the intention of Love which is the energy that vibrates at its highest level. |

“Embracing Black Dog”
When we embrace what “appears” to us as the dark side, or in this case represented by a raging black dog, it can be key to bringing about a different perspective on one’s life. Native Americans believe the dog to be a loyal friend—and so is our dark side. The pine fir boughs are connected to the planet Jupiter which is the planet of expansion—helping us to expand our viewpoint.
