“Dark Defining Light”
What is the dark and why is it in our lives? What often appears as dark energy in our lives is simply the energy that defines for us what the “LIGHT” really is.

“Gratitude” One of the most powerful emotions we can feel that will make dramatic changes in our lives is gratitude. Being grateful for the things in my life on a daily basis has become an integral part of my daily routine. Even during the dark times I can now be grateful...it feels like such an odd combination, but it lifts my soul and helps me to see the richness and the new opportunities that arise from experiencing the darker times. |

“Dancing With The Dark” I remember thinking while painting this piece that it was time for me to “see” my depression differently—as a tool for personal self-growth. I wanted to dance with the dark and make it my friend. I talked with my shadow. I asked my shadow what role it was playing. I swayed with its rhythm and saw that it was only the light shining ON me that created the dark shadow. When the light is the brightest, so is the shadow at its darkest and richest hue. |

“The Fool” The Fool was painted so that gender can not be distinguished. The Goddess energy asks for a balance, a yin/yang of masculine and feminine energy. The Fool symbolizes trusting in the unknown. Not knowing what’s in store, but risking moving forward with ease and trust. Making dreams come true, represented by the lizard, the dreamer of all dreams. The dragonfly who flies by his side reminds him that this material world of obstacles is just an illusion, and that the Fool can fly too! |
